The New York Yankees became the first team in MLB history to hit three grand slams in one game on Aug. 25, 2011, in a 22-9 win against the Oakland Athletics. All grand slams were recorded in the final four innings of the game, bringing the Yankees from a six-run deficit to a lead the A’s couldn’t overcome. The Yankees recorded 20 runs in their last four innings.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, Robinson Cano started the grand slam party with a blast off of A’s pitcher Rich Harden. Russell Martin followed suit the next inning, giving the Yankees their first lead of the game (10-7) with a two-out drive off of Fautino De Los Santos. Curtis Granderson secured the record for the Yankees, launching a two-out deep fly off of Bruce Billings.

The Yankees scored 15 consecutive runs between the fourth and seventh innings and recorded 13 walks in the game, which helped New York take 16 at-bats with the bases loaded.
